HOW I BECAME A
Amelia will be sharing her insight into what it’s like to be a wife, business owner, an entrepreneur, farmer and environmentalist, all whilst juggling a young family of three children aged 2, 3 and 5.
About Amelia Bright
Amelia Bright is passionate about strengthening community ties via a robust and resilient food economy. She is a farmer, business owner, and mother.
Launching from a patient centered career in prosthetics into farming and agriculture meant adapting seemingly unrelated skills into her new environment. Underpinning this transition was connection, and how to create stronger relationships for better outcomes, for people and for our environment.
In recognition of her ability to lead successful, grassroots and business initiatives such as the Prom Coast Food Collective and Amber Creek Farm, Amelia has received the RASV Emerging Leader in Victorian Agriculture and the Harvey Norman Shine Award.
Amelia co-owns and runs Amber Creek Farm and Sawmill (with husband Dan) and Prom Coast Food Collective (with co-founder Sally Ruljancich) and is President of Prom Country Farmers Market. Amelia lives in Fish Creek on her pig farm with her husband and three, small, “wild units”.
